Northern Lights Hotel, Fairbanks Alaska

The Northern Lights Hotel has been a long time landmark in the city of Fairbanks, Alaska.  The Hotel was built back in the early 1950's.  Today it stand empty and abandon. Yet a tale of the paranormal survives on. 

 

 

 

 

 

It is whispered that the third floor of the Northern Lights hotel is inhabited by a Spirit.  None are for sure at this point if this tale is true.  Join the IOPIA Team as we delve deeper into the case of the Spirit of the Northern Lights Hotel. Birch Hill Cemetery Photographs

UFO Photographs? -Taken in Alaska

 

  This set of photographs (about 30 of them) were sent to IOPIA for identification. They were taken with a Polaroid izone 550 digital cam, two different days 9/11/07 and 11/19/07 around 4-6 am on both days.  No sound was associated with the sighting.

 

 

 

All pics were taken by Stephanie. The IOPIA team would like to thank her greatly, for taking the time to send us the set of still shots. This capture below, is a close-up from above photo.

IOPIA Brings Paranormal Photograph Home

While, I was doing some research for the Paranormal Forum, I found this photograph and a short letter that went with it. I had found it on a great website called ufocasebook.com.  I want to thank the Webmaster of UFO Casebook, B J Booth for allowing IOPIA to display it on an Alaskan Paranormal website.   Believe me, I was very shocked at first look. But please, just look for yourself, it really looks like a little gray alien.  As I read the story under the picture I was truly amazed to find out that this photograph was from the early 1930's and was taken in Alaska.  Since being from Alaska, I had to read the letter that went with it.  Read it for yourself make up your own mind.

The story under the picture

This picture was taken in the early 1930's by my grandfather, who lived in alaska in those days. He first saw this entity when he was in his car driving towards a lake. He chased the entity up until this point where he made this picture of it. It toke him four months to develop the picture since it wasn't easy back in those days to develop a picture, Specially in Alaska. I got this picture last week, my grandfather died the next day.

Dear Sir,

The included picture was taken by my grandfather in the early 1930's. I scanned the image immediately after he gave it to me last week. I wish to remain anonymous since I don't want anything to do with any research or whatever on this.

I Know it looks like and alien or a bigfoot and I know my grandfather was telling me the truth about taking this picture. That's why I think it should be in the right hands. You are the only one I'm Sending this to, so please respect my privacy and don't contact me about this.

B. J. Booth, did inform me through his email that he has never contacted the individual that sent him this email. And he has respected the senders wishes. He did request that IOPIA not investigate further as well. As IOPIA, respects all privacy we have not delved any deeper. We do however explore the possibilities of the picture and the words that go with it.

 

Investigations Update

IOPIA is dedicated to all forms of the paranormal in Alaska.  With the start of the new year IOPIA's founders have been focused on securing ghost investigations for the year of 2008.  This process can take awhile as not everyone responds to our requests, the research involved the multitude of phone calls, the proper paperwork and so on.  Once these are secured we would like to have as many ghost investigators involved as possible.  With all this happening IOPIA is at this time starting our ULtimate Mailer.  This will be a mass mailer that everyone can participate in,  Its purpose is to keep you as updated as possible about IOPIA's current projects.  Also it will enable you  to be able to communicate faster with other members of IOPIA's Ultimate Mailer List.  Look for yours in your email.  If you did not already receive it or would like to be added to the Ultimate Mailer please email one of the founders and you will be added.

The Jesse Lee Home for Children

Recently IOPIA has been doing research into the historic Jesse Lee Home for Children.  If you don't already know. This is where the Alaskan Flag was originally conceived.  Many articles on the web can be found about this location having paranormal activity.  Through a contact in Seward, IOPIA was made aware that the already fragile building of the Jesse Lee Home for Children has been the victim of a fire believed to be started by trespassers.  IOPIA is a strong believer in gaining permission to investigate any locations.  Trespassing should be avoided, it gives all serious investigators of the paranormal a bad name.  Currently IOPIA is working on an article about the Home and is seeking permission from  various sources to gain access to historical photography of this location.  IOPIA also needs your help with this,  If you have any pictures you would like to donate IOPIA of the Jesse Lee Home please email them to Drgnkngt@aol.com IOPIA will post your name on them (IOPIA does reserve the right to reproduce them for other purposes.)  Please also be sure they are pictures that IOPIA can use with out violating any copywrite laws.  IOPIA believes in saving this historic location.  Any picture you could send would help greatly in adding to the history of this historical property
